Knicks in Five: Don’t call it a comeback

Knicks in five.

This is a moment I’ve been waiting for since I was four years old. As you guys know, I am a New York girly through and through, and I’m not ashamed of it. But you know what I was ashamed of for a few years? My Knicks.

They’ve been losing for 27 years, and I truly did not think this day would ever come. To make this a full-circle moment, the last time they were this close, I was four years old. Now my daughter is four. Well, technically five, but you guys get the point.

This NBA Finals run has me and the entire city elated. For some, maybe a little too excited, because violence and destruction is simply not okay, especially over a basketball game. And don’t fight me, because yes, I know it’s not just a basketball game. It’s the Knicks in five.

Once they bring home that chip, New York City will be a force to be reckoned with this summer. I’m talking block parties, concerts, cookouts, street style, and all the energy we lost during Covid coming back to revive the city I know and love.

We had a little moment of excitement during Linsanity with Jeremy Lin, and while I wouldn’t say it was just one game, it was definitely short-lived. But this? This feels different.

The day is finally here 8pm in San Antonia Texas. Knicks in five. We have one win away from winning the NBA Finals, and I am so freaking excited.

So now the real question is: how are you wearing your orange and blue?
